Recovering from the wildfire: A story in pictures

Red Cross volunteers gave out toys & more to families affected by the Mosquito Fire in Georgetown, Calif. including to Maryann Rother & baby Noelle.Elyse Cary got a clean-up kit from volunteers in Georgetown – she says a bear moved into her home while they were evacuated! “This is really going to help.” Volunteer Brad Harris helped evacuee Kim Rowles get cleaning supplies, snacks and water to her car in Foresthill, Calif. “I don’t know what to expect when I get home so this is a blessing.”Volunteer Daniel Rosado was showing off what is in the Red Cross wildfire clean-up kits at the Local Assistance Center in Placerville, set up as a one-stop shop for residents to connect to resources after the devastating fires.
Volunteers have been at Local Assistance Centers and out in the communities helping and caring for residents affected by the wildfires. Call 1-800-RED CROSS to donate or find out more about how you can get involved with the mission.
